PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The Maxwell Squire Building, located in historic downtown Steamboat Springs, Colorado, was built in 1908 by J.D. Maxwell and is on the National Register of
Historic Places. As part of a restoration project conducted in 2006 and 2007, Preservation Technology restored the brick and stone
elements of the structure. The work included complete disassembly and reconstruction of the brick and
stone parapet, reconstruction of wall sections, reconstruction of brickwork previously covered with concrete, and removal and replacement of
damaged and deteriorated bricks. Brick panels were stabilized by pinning and grout injection, and corners were
"stitched" together with grouted anchors. The entire building was cleaned and repointed.
